One of the biggest mistakes I see hockey players making is when they get too close to the opposition and they take the ball into contact.

This exposes the ball and gives the defender a chance to tackle you.

You can avoid this from happening by keeping the ball out of contact.

In this video we look at a game scenario which demonstrates the importance of being patience in build up play and using space strategically to time our passes and keep flow in the game, whilst keeping possession.
